The Boater Chick Festival is an opportunity for women in paddlesports to gather, make friends and paddle together in a friendly and supportive environment. The festival, a first of its kind, seeks to advance the participation of women in paddlesports by providing guided trips and clinics on Class II-V whitewater. Featured events include freestyle competitions, and a boatercross race. This event also includes an evening gathering with an Awards Ceremony, food, music, videos, a raffle for some great gear, an after party, and much more.

Where: Nantahala Outdoor Center in Wesser, North Carolina.

When: Saturday, May 17th and Sunday, May 18th.

This festival is open to anyone and everyone. While our clinics are geared towards women's whitewater kayaking we extend an invitation to everyone in boating. Open boats, OC2s, hand paddlers, squirt boaters, slalom and wildwater racers, rafters and guys are welcome and invited to join in the festivities. Leashed pets are welcome too, but check with your lodging provider for more details on pet rules and regulations. Please keep in mind that men must be kept on a leash at all times. (just kidding)

The Boater Chick Paddling Festival seeks to cultivate a sense of community among paddlers, women in particular, and to promote awareness and participation in river and land stewardship. In honor of these values, we will be donating all proceeds to American Whitewater.
